Exhibition in conference

Unique exhibition will be organized by Hiroshima University Museum during the conference at the venue.

History of the Japanese Copepodology

Participants will be able to see the original zinc plates of Takamochi Mori's (1937) monograph entitled "The Pelagic Copepoda from the neighbouring waters of Japan" which everyone thought had been destroyed by the atomic bomb that was dropped on the central part of Hiroshima City on 6 August 1945.

His monograph is the result of almost 10 years of research by him and is still cited and referred to by many plankton researchers. The exhibition will include the original illustrations as well as the first edition of the book.
